Affiliate Membership of the IOEE is for those seriously considering, or preparing to start, their own business. We respect everyone that takes the risk, to control their own destiny by starting and running their own business. IOEE membership offers a fantastic opportunity to develop the skills and networks needed to start up, survive and grow your business.

Professional Grades
There are 3 entry routes to membership:
- Qualifications: Successful completion of an enterprise-related qualification (level 3 and upwards) OR completion of a specific number of modules on IOEE Campus.
- Institute Recognised: You've completed an Institute Recognised programme mapped to a professional membership grade - check with your programme tutor.
- Experiential: We recognise your experience at running a business and map it to our membership grades. Find out more.
Associate AMIOEE
This is the first professional level of membership for business owners and enterprise support professionals. It’s designed for people that aim to develop their enterprise skills and connect with others in the network.
To qualify for Associate Membership you must fulfil one or more of the following criteria:
- Have run a business, or been self-employed, for up to 3 years
- Have achieved an enterprise qualification up to QCF Level 3 in an enterprise or enterprise support related subject
- Have completed an IOEE Recognised programme mapped to Associate grade
Associate Members are eligible to use the letters AMIOEE after their name and use the IOEE Associate Member digital badge in any publications and stationery.
To maintain membership Associate Members will be required to demonstrate their ongoing enterprise skills development by engagement in at least 5 days of enterprise development per year. This can include mentoring others, being mentored, enterprise learning, self study, use of our campus or a qualification.

Member MIOEE
Membership is for those who have proof of personal and enterprise development and practical experience in applying their skills and knowledge either as an Enterprise Owner, Entrepreneur or Business Support professional.
To qualify for full Membership you must fulfil at least one of the following criteria:
- Have run a business, been self employed or supported businesses for 3 years or more
- Hold an enterprise qualification at QCF Level 5, or equivalent, in enterprise or enterprise support.
- Have completed an IOEE Recognised programme mapped to Member grade
Members are eligible to use the letters MIOEE after their name and use the IOEE Member digital badge in any publications and stationery.
To maintain membership, Members will be required to demonstrate their ongoing enterprise skills development by engaging in at least 5 days of enterprise development per year. This can include mentoring others, being mentored, enterprise learning, self-study or qualification. This can be achieved through the use of our ‘Campus’ platform.

Fellow FIOEE
Fellow status recognises a select group of experienced entrepreneurs, enterprise support professionals and academics who deliver sustained long-term entrepreneurial performance by leading and developing enterprise strategy. As a Fellow you will be committed to promoting and sharing the highest standards, developing others and improving yourself.
To qualify for Fellowship you must fulfil two of the following criteria:
- Have run a business, been self employed or supported businesses for 5 years or more
- Hold an enterprise qualification at QCF Level 7, or equivalent, in an enterprise or enterprise support related subject.
- Have completed an IOEE Recognised programme mapped to Fellowship
Or as an academic you must have attained one of the following positions working in the field of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship:
- Professor, Reader or any Senior Academic position
- Director of Research or Research Fellow
Fellows are eligible to use the letters FIOEE after their name and use the IOEE Fellow digital badge in any publications and stationery.
To maintain membership Fellows will be required to demonstrate their ongoing enterprise skills development by engagement in at least 5 days of enterprise development per year. This can include mentoring others, being mentored, enterprise learning, self study or a qualification. This can be achieved through use of our ‘Campus’ platform.
